Purpose:
This chair is appointed by the Board and chairs a long standing committee. This chair may decide to not appoint committee members, but must work closely with the Caretaker and Certified Water Manager to care for & manage our system. The chair must know the workings of the water system, pumping, distribution, how to locate, isolate leaks, and repair them. They are responsible to see that the area surrounding water boxes and fire hydrants are kept clear for easy access in an emergency. They must be familiar with all policies in the Policy Book regarding water, including but not limited to section 2640.
They must be familiar with Federal, State & Local water regulations. They report monthly to the Board on the following subjects: water usage, pumped gallons, leaks found or hidden and repairs. They meet with the Certified Water Manager or assign the Caretaker to handle the monthly meeting. All Federal, State & Local water requirements must be met or a petition filed for exception to the rule.
The chair will meet with the Caretaker and together they will map out a water plan for the coming year, gather costs and work with the Board in formulating a Budget Proposal to be included in the upcoming year’s budget for approval of the membership at the Annual Meeting.
