Community Notice: Stehekin Landing Summer 2026 Service Limitations

Community Notice: Stehekin Landing Summer 2026 Service Limitations

May 07, 20262 min read

Cascade River Community Club is sharing an important update affecting summer access and services in the greater North Cascades / Stehekin area.

Limited Services at Stehekin Landing for Summer 2026

Following significant flooding in December that damaged critical wastewater infrastructure, Stehekin Landing will operate with limited public services throughout Summer 2026.

As a result:

  • The North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin will not offer public services this season, including:

    • Lodging

    • Food service

    • Retail

    • Fuel

    • Laundry

    • Showers

  • Postal service, ferry service, and private shuttle/tour operators will continue to operate as usual.

  • Lakeview and Purple Point Campgrounds will remain open, operating on a first-come, first-served basis and free of charge.

What Visitors Should Expect

The wastewater system supports key infrastructure across the landing, including visitor facilities, concessions, and park operations. Due to the extent of the damage, temporary systems are not sufficient to restore full operations this season.

Restoration efforts are ongoing, and partial or limited services at the Lodge may become available depending on system recovery progress.

Access and Recreation Still Available

A variety of permitted outfitters continue to offer activities in the area, including biking, rafting, climbing, hiking, backpacking, and horse or llama packing trips. A list of current operators can be found here. Additional lodging, food services, transportation, and activities may be available through the local community.

Despite service reductions, visitors can still enjoy many opportunities in the Stehekin area this summer:

  • Ferry access to Stehekin remains in operation

  • Shuttle services and guided tours (including Rainbow Falls) will continue

  • Campgrounds remain open with potable water and vault toilets

  • Lodging is available elsewhere throughout the Stehekin Valley

  • Outfitters continue offering activities such as hiking, biking, rafting, climbing, horseback riding, llama packing, and backpacking

Some trails may still show signs of flood impacts and are actively being assessed and repaired.

Stay Informed

Conditions and service availability may change as restoration work continues. Residents and visitors are encouraged to check official updates before traveling.
