I hope your holidays have been relaxing and enjoyable for you and your family. I would like to bring to you a concern that was brought to my attention at the recent Board Meeting this past Saturday. A CRCC member David Mireault spoke to the membership, Board, and I his concerns of the Fire Danger in the park. His concern is that recently there have been many devastating fires throughout the country and the world. That this next year in the park could have the potential to be very dry and as a community we need to do some preventative measures before the fire season is here. That Memorial Day Clean up isn’t enough. I agree with him. I would like to get a head start and advise our members to do a thorough cleaning of their lots prior to the Fire Season.
- Raking of all brush, leaves, and debris around your lot.
- Trim up trees, remove dead/dry trees, dead/dry bushes, remove branches and trees that have fallen.
- Have a fire extinguisher available near your generator.
- Your firepit area should be free from debris or vegetation. And fires should always be kept in approved firepit.
- Always have a hose next to your fire pit before having a campfire.
How the park will assist you
If you leave the debris in a pile at the end of your lot, the caretakers will know to pick up the debris and take to the community fire pit. They will also, be cleaning up debris as time allows during their regular shifts.
Also, I am scheduling volunteer clean-up days once a month starting February 2024. To clean up all the debris in the park common areas. The dates are as follows:
- February 24, 2024
- March 23, 2024
- April 20, 2024
- May 25, 2024
I ask for many helpers to come out and assist, so we can keep our families and friends safe this next Summer Season here at Cascade River Park.
Best regards, Pixie Evans
